Undefeated Steeltown Outlasts Outlaws

By Special Correspondent Captain America

The game was a dog-fight the whole way, just as it was billed.
Steeltown jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead, only to see McNabb rally
the Outlaws with a 10 point rebound. It came down to the last 2
minutes, as the Roughcut drove inside the Outlaw 20 yd line to kick
what would be the winning FG on the leg of Rob Bironas, and then held
off the Outlaws for the final 45-seconds.

For the home-standing Outlaws, McNabb was brilliant in keeping the
Roughcut defense on it's heels, throwing for 281 yds on 30 attempts.
He hit Johnson 8-times for a robust 133 yds and three TDs. White
added another 96 yds on 6 catches, one score. Jones-Drew ran for 55
tough yds, with LBs hanging all over him, and surprising Harrison ran
just 4-times for a stunning 60 yds! Seau & Pierce added INTs, one of
them stemming a deep drive by Steeltown.

For the visiting Roughcut, Romo again was on his game, despite
throwing two very costly INTs. On a work-like 19 of 26, Tony hit
Hines Ward 6-times for 77 yds and a pair of touchdowns, and Jerico
Cotchery also had 6 catches for 90 and a tally. On defense, Jason
Taylor
came up with 2 key sacks.

Week #6 sees the Outlaws tarveling to Transylvania ("De bats, boss,
de bats!"), while Steeltown travels to always-tough NW Missouri.

Slothful Teams

DTC reporters are given a Sunday midnight deadline by the Editor to get their articles in. However, it is a bit difficult to do that when CERTAIN teams do not get their games played.

We're calling the following teams out:

Transylvania "Delayed" Dead
Mt. Pilot "Sluggard" Gamblers
Steeltown "Reluctant" RoughCut
Fresno "Overdue" Outlaws
North Carolina "Tardy" Tremblers
Dayton "Draggin" Dragons

Kudos to the Sanders and Harris divisions of the Payton Conference and the Taylor division of the Slasher...er...Simpson Conference for getting those games in on time.

Muncie upsets Dallas, 16-7

The victim of the first reported upset of week 5 is DTC's own beloved Dallas Gladiators. The geeks have obviously forgotten that the center was created for the purpose of helping make the Gladiators winners. The only thing they can show for the 2008 season is a 1-4 record and 24 cases of Twinkies consumed.

Dallas QB Tom Brady reportedly called Muncie QB Peyton Manning a "girly-boy" before the game in reference to his 68.2 QB rating coming into the game with 4 TDs and 5 INTs to his credit. Manning responded with a 19 of 23, 215 yd, 1 td outing (120.1 rating). Brady finished with a girly-boy rating number of 68.1 completing only 13 of 24 passes.

The Gladiator injury woes have now moved to include the defense with starting LB Scott Fujita and S Adrian Wilson down. The Packers lost some depth on the o-line with backups "Orange" Junius Coston and Tony "Doll" Moll both out for at least a week.

The overachieving Packers have now thwarted the DTC predictions 4 out of 5 times. At 4-1 they keep pressure on division leader Nashville. Next week they will be 9 point underdogs at Hermitage. The hospital ward Gladiators will be two TD favorites against Philadelphia who, at press time, have still not accomplished their first win.

Play-By-Play Conspiracy Exposed

There are no dirty tricks the Presidential candidates will avoid in their attempt to prevent the Dallas Technology Center from obtaining accurate play-by-play transcripts. In an attempt to distract Action PC users from the country's trivial financial issue and the upcoming debate between Mr. Obama and Mr. McCain, both campaigns used a mole within the software development offices of Dave Koch to create a bug that would cause the play-by-play reports to be (let me be diplomatic) missing huge critical blocks of information.

Once the DTC became aware of the problem, it was reported to the Kochner. As a result, a new patch is now available. http://www.dksports.com/service.htm

Who knows what dastardly tricks those guys will attempt next time?
