AIG and TTFBA

Several proposals have been offered In the spirit of the US Congress going after the bonuses of AIG executives: legislation targeting an individual or small group.  In that spirit I have renamed each of the them. The Wausau Winning Attitude Act This law would reward coaches playing games head-to-head even if their seasons were losing causes. Named after one team that exemplified the approach that all coaches should use: Play your games regardless of your talent.  The Donelson Dumpster Dive Act It's possible that the dumpster diving talent mining manueveur has gone on for many seasons but the Warriors whomping 4 player free agent grab on March 1st raised a red flag throughout the league. Should've done a player here, a couple there - maybe no one would've noticed. The acquisition near the time the beta ratings came out - coincidence? Not. The DonTilSaP Act This legislation targets teams loaded with talent via a salary cap. This season the bullseye is on Donelson, Tillman and San Pedro. The goal is to create a utopian football league where all teams go 8-8 and no one gets any boo-boos. Granted, Donelson's Super Bowl run this year will be tainted with family trades and beta rating free agent harvesting, but other teams have been built legitimately and shouldn't be punished. (Full disclosure: DTC once supported a salary cap but that was in an age when one-sided trades cracked parity. Owner attrition and trade review has improved things. In most cases. Not mentioning any names.) The 37.5% Act This is the proposal on limiting 800 attempts at QB. The 37.5% refers to the percentage of teams that would've been affected by this rule this season: DAK, FRE, GLM, KNX, NAS, NE, SP, TIL and DVD all have over 800 passing attempts. That's 9 teams. Next year, it could be DAL if Brady's knee works. Aaron Rodgers was a Gladiator draft pick and has been protected every year until finally! he bore fruit. You will have to pry one of those QBs from Colossus' cold dead hands (metallic claws?).

Draft Need Analysis - Simpson Conference

Montcalm The Panthers' primary need as at DT and G. Willie Paker and Wes Welker could use better sidekicks at their positions.   North Carolina QB should be the Triad Tremblers pick at 1st overall but they have critical needs at RB and WR as well.   Tillman The Rangers are in fantastic shape at almost every position except CB where they are woefully inadequate. However, with 6 safeties rated 6 or above, help should arrive via trade. Even with average CBs, the Rangers are lined up to take the TTFBA again. An upgrade at OLB would be nice.   Dayton Mediocrity abounds at offensive line and defensive line for the Dragons.    Death Valley A Demon is needed at OLB. A couple of spots on the offensive line could use improvement.   Real Charleston Cedreic Benson is not the future at RB for the Galaticos. Kurt Warner needs more WRs like Greg Jennings to throw to. The offensive line exists, barely.   Steeltown There is no iron on the D-line and the smelting pot is completely empty at guard for the Roughcut. (What IS a roughcut anyway?)   Fresno The Outlaws don't have any gaping talent areas but need to up the talent in several areas: defensive line, outside lineback and center.   Dallas Several holes in the Gladiator armor need filled this year starting with RB. Defensive line and the inside linebacker position needs some bodies that can do more than just eat and breath.   Nashville Defensive tackle and safety are where the Force is not with the Force. WR and a partner for Sammy Morris at RB are also needed. Colossus and the DTC hope they fail at filling their needs.   Muncie The DTC gleefully report that the Packers are in terrible shape. They could pick a position at random outside of safety and inside linebacker for their pick at #20 and take care of some problem. Hopefully, all the good players will be consumed by then.   Great Lakes The Midshipmen look sunk as well, like the Packers. Offensively, they will cause damage but, hopefully, Orlovsky and Hasselbeck at QB will cause Mike Fafnis so much grief that he will forfeit both game against Dallas.  But the defensive line is not impressive (of course, the running game in this division isn't impressive either so maybe it won't matter). There's also an OLB position the needs filled. The secondary is the strength of Great Lakes.

Draft Need Analysis - Payton Conference

Donelson The Warriors are in excellent shape. The lowest rated players they have are 6s so they may go for upgrades there: DT and OLB. San Pedro Defensive line is the only glaring need for the Corsairs. Hermitage The Heroes major need is at QB; Jon Kitna doesn't cut it. There are holes in the defensive line and safety as well. Philadelphia Major rebuilding needed at the home of the Liberty bell starting at QB. Ryan and Flacco will probably be gone by the 17th pick. Other areas needing attention: WR and S. NW Missouri The Rednecks have openings available at DE and S. Guard could use an upgrade. Also, a single season starter to hold the spot for Carson Palmer. New England The Generals are in very good shape. No major holes just several areas that could use an upgrade from 6. A WR with 60+ receptions like Eddie Royal or Antonio Bryant would be a help. Mt. Pilot The Gamblers have an immediate need at guard and safety, could use an upgrade at RB (Jamal Lewis) and QB (Marc Bulger) Transylvania The Evil Dead only have a glaring need at WR. Add in an upgrade at OT and more carries at the RB position and they are good to go. Ohio There will be no Glory for Ohio if they don't load up at WR. Both lines could use beefing up along with safety. Dakota There is no blitz in the Blizzard - they need DEs. C and OLB could get upticks. Wausau The Bombers bombed at QB with Matt Leinart so that should be Priority 1. But there are gaps across the board so any pick will help: WR, ILB,T,TE,DE. Knoxville The Smokies are in fair shape but definitely need help, primarily at S, OL and LB. They are loaded at DL so some trades could easily fill some,if not all, of those spots.
